Welcome to our new first year grad students – Hillis Johnson, Bryce Lipinski, and Leah Jaynes! Hillis will be working on polyolefins, Bryce on polymer electrolytes, and Leah on polyesters.
Welcome to the group!
Congratulations to our fantastic undergrad Ahmed M. Ahmed! He was one of only 32 recipients in the entire country of the Rhodes Scholarship. He plans to use it to pursue as master’s degree in medicinal organic chemistry at the University of Oxford in England.
Congrats Ahmed! We are all so proud of you and know you will do wonderfully at Oxford!
Our group’s previous work on poly(limonene carbonate) was featured in the NSF’s celebration of National Chemistry Week this year! Thanks to the NSF for funding us and for highlighting this project! It was also featured in a brief article in Discover Magazine (click to image 9 of 12).
Megan Fieser from the Tolman group at UMN came and visited for the week to do high-throughput experiments through the CSP. We’ve really enjoyed having her this week! Come back for another round of experiments any time, Megan!
Former graduate student Scott Allen and Novomer were featured in an article about making products from air in the NY Times!
Our 2009 JACS comm on sequence control with Christophe Thomas was mentioned in C&EN!
The group was well-represented at the ACS meeting in Philadelphia – Kyle and Maria presented, James attended, and several former group members were there as well!
Both Yuki and Qi published papers this month on polymer electrolytes! Congrats to them both on their papers!
Congratulations to our undergrad Anna Overholts who was selected as a member of the Hunter R. Rawlings III Cornell Presidential Scholars (RCPRS) program!
We are pleased to welcome Dr. Wei You from Indiana University, Bloomington to the group as a new postdoc! Wei will be working on anion exchange membranes. Welcome, Wei!
